Sanpan 2500 LE

Author: StaffGodfrey has been a leader and innovator in pontoon boats since 1958. It was the first to use aluminum construction and was the first builder to offer a lifetime warranty on its wood decking. The 2500 LE commemorates 40 years of milestones in the pontoon boat business.
Godfrey Marine introduced the first all-aluminum pontoon boat at the Chicago Boat Show in 1958. In the years that followed, other manufacturers began to follow Godfrey's lead by moving from steel to all-aluminum construction. To commemorate its 40th anniversary as an industry leader, Godfrey has introduced the Sanpan 2500LE, a veritable Cadillac among pontoon boats.
Beginning with its fully keeled, 25-inch diameter pontoons, the 2500 provides a stable ride, even when lake waters get a little rough. The larger diameter also adds to the 2500's capacity without significantly adding weight. For example, the same boat with 23-inch pontoons can carry 2,060 pounds. The 2500's weight capacity is 2,915 pounds but weighs only 37 pounds more.
"When you add the bigger tubes, you can get a lot more people on board," says John Deputy, project manager for Godfrey Marine.
Once on board, passengers will appreciate the wide, 8-foot-6-inch beam and the plush seating for which Sanpan has become known.
"A huge selling point for the Sanpan has been the comfort of the seating," he says. "For example, you can sit in 10 easy chairs, but only one manufacturer makes the one that fits your body better. That's what people say about our Sanpan."
The driver sits in an adjustable swivel bucket, but there's an option for a double-wide seat. Behind the driver a full L-shaped lounge wrapped in 30-ounce. marine-grade vinyl extends across the full width of the boat and forward to the 30-inch starboard entryway, which is wide enough for wheelchair users. Passengers in the rear are shielded from engine noise, thanks to the upholstered decking over the engine compartment.
Other standard features include a color-matched bimini top, a 34-quart cooler and deluxe rail graphics. The 2500 also is equipped with a sink and a built-in trash holder that could double as an extra cooler on the newly designed fiberglass helm station. The driver looks over full instrumentation, a stainless tilt steering wheel and an AM/FM cassette with weather-band and four speakers. Also noteworthy are the 20-year structural pontoon warranty and the lifetime guarantee on wood in the deck and furniture.
Some options include a ski tow bar, a changing room and outboard engines up to 150 hp. The Limited Edition also is available in a 22-foot length.
